Singapore’s commercial production industry
From casting call to wrap.
Casting here still runs on Facebook groups, group chats and invoices nobody wants to chase. CastSetRoll puts the whole job in one place: the brief, the applications, the booking, and the money that follows it.
Your photos stay private by default, shown only through links that expire. Nobody can browse the talent list, and your contact details stay hidden until you’re booked.
Examples of the kind of brief posted
- Bank campaign · Female lead, 28–38 · $1,200/day
- Telco TVC · Family of four · Shoot 12–13 Sep
- F&B social · Hands model · Half day
- Airline brand film · Cabin crew types · $900/day
- Skincare · MUA, 2 days · $650/day
- Property · Mandarin-speaking host · $1,000/day
How it works
Four steps, and the last one runs itself.
Post the brief
Structured roles, not a wall of text in a Facebook comment. Role name, how many people, shoot dates, and the rate, which is required, so nobody applies blind.
- Roles for talent or for crew
- Shoot dates and application deadline
- Rate is mandatory to publish
Apply in one tap
Your profile is already complete, so applying takes a single tap and an optional note. No re-typing your measurements into a form for the hundredth time.
- One profile, reused for every job
- Optional note to the casting director
- Track everything you've applied to
Shortlist and audition
Applicants arrive as a clean grid, not an inbox. Open a profile, shortlist or pass. Ask for a self-tape, the short audition video someone records on their own phone, when you need to see them perform.
- Side-by-side applicant grid
- Shortlist or pass in one click
- In-app self-tapes
Wrap, and get paid
This is the part nobody else does. The invoice fills itself in from the rate, days and usage both sides already agreed, carries a PayNow QR code, and sits in one list until it's marked paid.
- Built from the terms you agreed
- PayNow QR on every invoice
- Paid, pending and overdue at a glance
Nothing here is new work. It’s the work you already do, in one place.
Posting
A paragraph in a Facebook comment. Rate omitted, so everybody asks.
Applications
Comments, DMs and emails. Photos arrive at four resolutions.
Self-tapes
Forty videos in a chat, unlabelled, filling up your phone.
The client
A PDF or slide deck built by hand, then emailed and re-emailed.
Booking
"What did we agree?" Scrolled back through a chat thread.
Getting paid
An invoice typed from scratch. A spreadsheet of who has paid.
Three screens do most of the work.
Everyone side by side
Photos, playing age and their tape. Shortlist or pass, and move on.
One link for your client
They open it with no account and mark approve, maybe or pass.
The invoice, already filled in
From the terms both sides agreed, with a PayNow QR code on it.
For talent, hair, makeup, wardrobe and crew
Get seen. Get booked.
For actors, models and commercial talent, and for the makeup artists, hair stylists and wardrobe stylists who make every shoot work.
Create a free profileA page worth putting in your bio
Every profile gets a clean public address like castsetroll.sg/p/your-name. Polished enough to share, and it works as your portfolio.
See an example pageOne profile, endlessly reused
Actors and models: measurements, credits, and the eight casting shots every job asks for, taken once rather than forty times. Hair, makeup and wardrobe: a portfolio of your work, your disciplines and what you specialise in.
Rates up front, or your own quote
Every brief names what it pays before you apply, because it can't publish without a rate. If you're hair, makeup or wardrobe it works the other way: your day rate, half day and kit fee sit on your profile, so a producer can budget before they ask.
The invoice writes itself
Rate, days, usage and dates are already agreed, so the invoice fills itself in. It carries a PayNow QR code, transport and kit lines can carry receipts when finance asks for them, and both sides can see what's been paid.
Briefs that come back structured
Define roles properly: who you need, how many, dates and rate. Applicants arrive matched to the role, not buried in comments.
One grid, not an inbox
Everyone side by side, with their self-tape. Shortlist or pass, then send your client one link they open with no login.
Real profiles, not screenshots
Photos, casting shots, measurements and credits, kept current by the talent themselves. It's their portfolio, so it stays right.
Invoices you can actually find
They arrive from the terms you agreed, addressed to your company, in one list. Mark each one paid and the freelancer sees it. No spreadsheet.
For casting directors & production houses
Cast the job, not the chaos.
Post a brief once and get back structured, comparable applications from people who already know what the job pays.
Post a casting briefYou did the work. The invoice shouldn’t be another job.
Every other platform stops at the booking. CastSetRoll keeps going: the agreed terms become an invoice in one tap, with a PayNow QR code on it, and both sides can see what is paid, pending or overdue.
CastSetRoll never holds your money. Payment happens by bank transfer between the production house and you, exactly as it does today. We just make sure it actually happens.
Built from inside the industry.
CastSetRoll started with a simple, annoying observation: commercial production runs on world-class craft and completely improvised admin. Casting calls go out in Facebook groups. Talent type their height and measurements into a fifth chat that week. A casting director keeps forty conversations straight in an inbox that was never built for it. And when the shoot wraps, freelancers send an invoice and spend weeks politely asking after it.
The people aren’t the problem. The workflow is. The tools around them simply were not built for how this industry works, so we are building them, starting with the two things that hurt most: finding the right people, and getting paid for the work.
We never take a cut of what you earn. Freelancers keep 100% of their agreed fee, and the money moves between the two sides exactly as it does today.
The craft in this industry is world-class. The admin around it should be too. In Singapore, and wherever the work goes next.
The things people ask first.
What happens to my photos and personal details?
They belong to you. Photos and videos are private by default and shown only through links that expire. Nobody can browse the talent list: a profile is read one at a time, by address, so it cannot be scraped. Your phone number and email stay hidden until a booking exists, and a producer can only message you after you have applied to them. You can see, download or delete your data and your account at any time, in line with Singapore's PDPA.
Does CastSetRoll handle the payment itself?
No. CastSetRoll creates the invoice from the terms you already agreed, carries a PayNow QR code, and tracks whether it has been paid. The money moves by bank transfer between the production house and the freelancer, exactly as it does today.
What does it cost?
Joining and building your profile is free for talent and artists during the pilot. Pricing for production houses is being worked out with the first cohort. We would rather set it with the industry than announce it at them.
Who can join?
Actors, models and commercial talent, plus makeup artists, hair stylists and wardrobe stylists working in commercial production. We are starting with Singapore, so that is where the jobs are today, and the region follows. You must be 18 or over to create an account.
Do I need an agent?
No. CastSetRoll is open to freelancers working directly. If you are with an agency, you are welcome too. The profile is yours either way.
Join the pilot.
We are opening CastSetRoll to a first group of Singapore talent, artists, casting directors and production houses. Free to join while we build it with you.
Your photos stay private by default, shown only through links that expire. You can download or delete everything at any time.
